The Revelation Racer

Build Up

The ‘Revelation’ racer is constructed around a space frame steel box section chassis with full CDS (MSA) specification double roll hoop, together with lateral bars and rearward braces to give the driver a safety cell. Connected to the space frame using spherical rod end bearings are computer designed unequal length double wishbones. The suspension is designed to give controlled, low roll centres, a low centre of gravity and full adjustment to camber, caster and wheel alignment thus maximising handling and control to suit the driver’s preference.

The chassis is designed to meet the requirements of the 750 Motor Club Formula 4 regulations and several other Championships together with HillClimbing, Sprinting d Track Day usage.

The engine used in the ‘Revelation’ racer is the Kawasaki ZX7R ( P ) models (1996/2001 ) chosen for their robust qualities and availability. The engine operates up to 13000 RPM complete with the standard 6 speed sequential gearbox, original air box ( jetting-free ), original Kawasaki down pipes to the collector box and original ECU and coils.

Drive to the wheels is delivered through a ‘Revelation’ modified open differential chain and sprocket arrangement on a bespoke adjustable differential carrier. Changing sprockets can offer the driver many gear ratios to suit the various circuits maximising performance.

Frame

The control tyres for the ‘Revelation’ racer are the ‘Avon’ 6.0/21.0-13 slick and wet front tyres and the 7.0/22.0-13 slick and wet rear ‘Formula Ford Zetec’ tyres, chosen for performance, availability and cost, fitted to the ‘Revelation’ specification 13” steel racing wheels.

A controlled light-weight fibreglass bodywork and aero package is designed to maximise style and create functional and adjustable downforce, together with low drag, allowing the driver to further maximise performance.
The aero package consists of adjustable front and rear wings and a full-length, light-weight fibreglass, flat floor venturi system.

The ‘Revelation’ racer uses controlled uprights and single pot-slide callipers with solid discs all round, with adjustable brake bias and controlled master brake cylinder.

‘ETB Instruments’ is currently developing a state of the art steering wheel mounted data logging system in association with ‘Revelation Motorsport’ for the 2005 Season.
